What ist Coaching?

Do you know any athlete, any sportsteam in history that won a world championship or olympic gold medals, without having a coach?

In his role, a coach does not go on the playground to shot the goal for the athletes.

The coach trains the athlet physically and mentally, he supports him in every way, so that the athlete becomes so resourceful that he can solve the issue, shot the goal, win the gold medal by himself alone. This is the fundamental difference to a consultant, consultants recommend to do something, answeres questions, a coach increases the resources necessary to solve the issue by someone self.

 

Although there is no such thing like a official job called "Coach", there isn't a University Degree or Course that confirms that you are a coach - neither in Soccer or any other sports area, nore in business, nor in private topics or themes. Nevertheless, in sport, whre coaching has its root, it works - coaches are everywhere and they get valued by the athletes and the management - because they can dramatically improve the performance of the so called "actient"

Although coaches look into the past, to understand what happened to the actient so far, they focus on the future, on the dreams of the athlete/actient. This is the fundamental difference to a therapist - wich mainnly focus on the past.

Therapy is the of tears, coaching is the way of dreams.
